Steven was born on July 1, 1992.  He brought years of joy and happiness and life to all of those who loved him.  Steven was an active, funny, intelligent boy.  Steven was an award winning contra alto clarinet player and chess player.  He loved traveling and biking with his grandpa.

As a teenager, Steven suffered from mental illness and, eventually, addiction.  In spite of many efforts by the people who loved him, Steven continued to be tormented  throughout his short adult life.

Steven was a beautiful spirit- but he was too fragile for the evils of this world.  He fell for the lie that something external could end his internal suffering.  In the end, the lie that had seduced him took his life.

On Oct 19, 2022 at 1:00 central time Steven’s ashes will be scattered into the ocean that he loved- freeing his gentle spirit from this place so that he can finally find comfort in the arms of God.  At that time, Please pause to pray for Steven and for all of the addicts who have suffered and who continue to suffer.

When I was 13 a kid moved in down the street. he was smart and liked math and chess. much like me. We ended up walking home from school everyday together. hanging out before school, too. I got to know his mom, his little brothers, his dog. his neighbors. even his grandma and grandpa. we were best friends. He fell for another of my best friends, and they were together for a long time. off and on. we would all hang out and be odd-balls together. I remember playing chess. he would study and blow me away. i remember getting good at DDR with him. we would practice at his GF's house. I remember going on trips with him. i remember sleepovers. I remember it all man, and I miss you. You were close to me growing up, and it was effortless. Love you man. miss you.
