I first met Stuart not long after Northern was created, way back in 2004. Always helpful, cheery and wanting to make things better, he brightened up any visit to Blackpool.

Can't believe he's gone, life really can do cruel things

RIP Stuart, sleep well

I met Stuart when I first started on the Railway in 2004 he was so welcoming and friendly, he always had a smile on his face and kind word to say, it was a pleasure to have worked with him over the years.
My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time, he will be sadly missed.

I remember Stuart starting on the railway. He approached all his various jobs in the same manor, with empathy and humour.
He started as a cleaner then a shunter before becoming a guard and a guard manager. He was the same person throughout, always the one to approach because he was a lovely man and will be very greatly missed. Rest in peace Briggsy x

Having only known Stuart since Jan 2021, when he joined our Liverpool Lime Street's Op's Team, Stuart has been a breath of fresh air with his kindness, sense of humour, quick wit and the we’ve had so many laughs in the short time he was with us.
My condolences to all of Stuart’s family, friends and Railway Colleagues who ever had the pleasure of knowing him. Fly high in the Railway in the sky R.I.P. Stuart.

Thank you for all our belly laughs at Blackpool depot. Not only did we have all those laughs, you also gave me some really good advice when I needed it and picked me up when I was feeling down with your big bubbly personality. You will be sadly missed - things just won't be the same without you. Stuart adored his wife Julie and family and was a great Grandad too. Sending all my love to the family during this sad time. xxxx
