Stuart Righter died on May 21st, 2015 in his home from complications of his ongoing medical conditions.

He was well known as a Land Surveyor. He participated in the California Land Surveyors Association for most of his 25 year surveying career serving as President, Secretary, and numerous other committee positions. His passion for Historical Records was what drove him most and was honored last year to be accepted to the Board of the Sonoma County Records Commission.

He was currently cataloging and referencing numerous records from past surveyors archives, and will be truly missed by his peers. He was born August 15, 1951 In Virginia. He obtained a degree in Education from the University of Virginia. He worked as a Tug Boat Cook, Teacher, and a Construction Superintendent before meeting his true calling in Surveying.

He is survived by his former wife, and the love of his life, Teresa Cook and step-daughter Tanya Cook in Virginia, his brother Steven Righter in Richmond Virginia, his brother Grover Righter in San Francisco, California, and brother George Righter in Williamsburg, Virginia.
