Predeceased by her adoring husband, Stuart William Larratt (died 1991)
and her parents, Yancie and Belle Miller of Oconomowoc, Wi.

Sue had a magical way of drawing out the very best in everyone she ever met. Her smile, her inquisitive passion to learn about another's life and her authentic enthusiasm to connect to other souls on our planet was the norm for her every single day of her life.

Our mom spread cheer wherever she went. And she always, always made others feel like she was their best friend within moments of meeting. Sue was not a spectator [except for watching football]. Sue participated fully and actively in life. She was forever on the go. If you could keep up with Sue, you surely would be on an adventure.

Sue had the gift of caring for others.  She was a mother, a wife, a friend, a caregiver and a teacher.  She shared her support and wisdom with all of us.

She had special bonds with her cousins, her childhood friends, as well as sorority sisters and college friends from both St Olaf College and University of Wisconsin, Madison whom remained close to her throughout her life.

Sue was a champion of the underdog. She stood for a healthy respect for all people, especially those that could not stand for themselves.

Sue married the love of her life, Stuart, on October 11, 1952, but not on a [football Saturday]. Football was the second love of her life. Together they cared and raised 5 daughters and a son in the 1970's. Kari, Jill, Julie, Jennifer, Lisa and Erik.

She cared for my father, Stuart, in the 1980's when he had ALS. They sold our childhood home on Beaver Lake (home of 4 generations of Larratt's), outfitted a van and visited every national park on the registry over several years. They wintered near Sanibel Island, Florida every year and returned to Wisconsin for summers.

They took six months to tour all of Europe and followed the same route that my father had traveled when in the army 40 years earlier in WWII.

When Stuart passed away in 1991, Sue wanted to connect with people. She volunteered at the Sanibel Island Playhouse and worked at Three Crafty Ladies on Sanibel Island, where she was adored by her friends and customers. She was an accomplished craftswoman having knit over 40 highly intricate scandinavian sweaters for family and friends.

Her last two years were spent near her daughter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

She will forever be remembered for her energetic spirit and the strength and confidence she passed onto her children. Her heart was gold, her intelligence swift and her passion for life immense.
