McLarry, Mary Sue (Freeman) was born February 2, 1929 to Wade and Roena Freeman and went home to be with Jesus on Monday July 3, 2017. Sue, lovingly referred to as Susu or Susie by all who knew her, was greeted at heaven's gates by her beloved husband of 49 years, Newman.

Susie grew up in Dallas and Sulphur Springs. She and her two brothers, Harold and Wade, were raised in a loving, Christ-centered household, with their father Clifford Wade Freeman as a minister and the head of youth evangelism at the Southern Baptist Convention for many years. After attending Baylor University, she fell in love and married a handsome Texas A&M boy, Newman McLarry, and supported him in his calling to become a preacher as well. They had two beautiful daughters, Sharon and Deena. Susie lovingly followed her husband to different churches throughout their lives together, as he served as a pastor in Curtis Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, First Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and then at Lake Highlands Baptist Church in Dallas. She embraced her role of a pastor's wife whole heartedly, leading and attending Bible studies, prayer meetings, visitations, and other church functions with a servant's heart.

She was a beautiful soul who unwaveringly loved the Lord. She could command the attention of everyone in the room with her infectious laugh and her dazzling smile. She was a voracious reader, had a brilliant mind, and was a true artist at heart, with writing, design, and antique-collecting being her creative outlets. She was fiercely devoted to the Lord and to her husband, Newman, her two daughters, Sharon and Deena, her two granddaughters, Lacey and Jennifer, her three great-grandchildren, Shane, Shepard, and Shaw, and her in-love relatives Steve and Ben. She will be so, so missed by all who loved her but her family takes comfort that she is marveling at the majesty and beauty of God's glory and is finally reunited with her true love.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, on Friday, July 7 at 12:30pm with Reverend Raelynn Scott officiating.
