Cooking with Sue
While reading over the tribute of Sue on this web page, you know Sue liked to cook,
I want to share one of my fondest cooking memories with Sue.
Sue and I were lucky to travel together when we were at the mature age of 18/19, we spent 3 weeks in Great Britain. Young girls on a budget we would pick up a few things at a local market and eat in our room on some of the days. Sue bought a can of Spagetti Bolenese, and I was thinking "can you eat that cold?" Sue had a gadget, it was this warming device, a metal stick with an electrical cord attached, so she plugged it in and stuck the stick in the spagetti and woolaah! oh, wait, the can started smoking and we had to open the windows of our room and pray no one would think had a fire or ask us to leave our charming B&B for the night! I know Sue came along with her cooking. Sue and I shared many fun times and I will charish all the memories I have had with her. I wish she could tell us what heaven is like, I love what Tammy said about seeing her later today! See you later girlfriend.
High School Days
Sue was actually more my sister's friend. They were besties in high school and I was just the "little sister." But Sue never made me feel that way. She always made me feel like she enjoyed my company just as much as she did my sisters. I remember riding with her in her "big boat" of a car, and driving into McDonalds and her buying me a large diet 7-up. That may sound silly, but up to that point, I never really frequented McDonalds. I remember her kind of crazy laugh! I remember her encouraging me when I had taken up the guitar, and listening patiently as I croaked out the song, "Evergreen" and giving me words of encouragement, "you have a lovely voice, Tammy." And then years later, I found her and her brother, Bobby, on Facebook. These last few months, she and I messaged each other, and I so wanted to be an encouragement to her in the face of this monster called breast cancer. But once again, it was she who encouraged me. I was encouraged by her strong faith. Her assurance that "God had this." I am sure that our Heavenly Father will bless her greatly in His house. Enjoy, Paradise, Susan! And since in Heaven, a 1000 years is as a day, and a day is as a 1000 years, I'll see later today!
