Susan Ruth Weiss, 55, of West Point, died Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Columbus Regional Hospice Center. She was born Tuesday, May 5, 1959, in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of Chellis Wayne and Joan Avril Emmons.
 

Susan graduated from East High School in Rockford, Illinois with the class of 1977. She graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a Bachelor in Music in 1981. On December 19, 1981 she was united in marriage to Michael Joseph Weiss. In 2002 Susan received her post baccalaureate teaching certificate from Columbus State University. In 2009, she received her Masters in Education (Media Specialist) from the University of West Georgia.
 

She was employed as the Media Specialist (Librarian) for Dawson Elementary School at the time of her passing. Susan taught piano lessons in her home for 20 years, and ran small businesses. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, Pinterest, reading and spending time with her friends and family.
 

Susan cherished her husband and boys, spending time with them was her joy.  She was a faithful follower of Christ and loves her Lord and Savior. 
 

She is survived by her husband Michael Joseph Weiss; two children, Alexander Weiss of New Albany, Indiana, and Aaron Weiss of West Point; her mother Joan Emmons of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Robert Emmons of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and David Emmons of Louisville, Kentucky; and a sister, Mary (Jeff) Imlay of Louisville, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Chellis Emmons.
