This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Susan Chege, 35, born on July 16, 1977 and passed away on September 30, 2012. As we celebrate her life, be part of it by lighting a candle below in tribute to Susan.

You are my sister and my friend. A great daughter to our mom Frasiah Chege and our late dad Rufus Chege. But most of all, you were an awesome mother to Tracy (13) and Ken(10).

And even now that you are absent in body, your memories shall live on in our hearts forever. We will remember you forever.

Rest in Peace our love.

Till we meet again.

What can I say about Susan? For those of you that knew Susan knew she was not only the life of the party but often the reason for the party. She was giving, jovial, and most of all caring about others, often forgetting about herself. I remember visiting her in the hospital along with her roommate Terry to check up on her one day. The Susan I Know

October 7, 2012

What can I say about Susan? For those of you that knew Susan knew she was not only the life of the party but often the reason for the party. She was giving, jovial, and most of all caring about others, often forgetting about herself. I remember visiting her in the hospital along with her roommate Terry to check up on her one day. She kept asking how we were doing and was more concerned about whether Terry had enough groceries and if we had eaten; but that was Susan, always thinking about others.

Susan was born on July 16, 1977 to Frasiah Muthoni and Ibrahim Chege at Pumwani hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. She was their first child and the apple of her father’s eye. She has two brothers, Moses Chege and Rufus Chege. She was a very good sister who loved her brothers as much as they loved her—even though she always felt the need to remind them that she was older and wiser. She was blessed with two children, Ken (10 years old) and Tracy (13 years old). They were the apple of her eye.

Susan spent all her life in Kenya until she got the opportunity to come to the U.S a year ago. She was very hard working and was determined to build a good life for herself and her children. Unfortunately, Susan fell sick and was admitted to the Swedish Edmunds Hospital in June of this year. Through the unending support and prayers of family and friends, she started getting better and seemed to be on the road to recovery. She fought hard but succumbed to her illness and passed away peacefully on September 30, with her brother Moses by her side and holding her hand to the very last moment.

She was only here a short while but made a lot of friends and touched many hearts.

She will be greatly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
