Sue was an inspiration as to how government is supposed to work and how women can change the world. She righted our ship in South Bound Brook and for that I am ever grateful. Wish I had more time with her. Gone way too soon. Sue you are truly missed.

To the family....hugging you all so tightly as she was one magnanimous woman that I know your lives were better for having and fuller for being loved by.

To the woman who has transitioned, the woman who taught me the best phrase when running a Finanace office, "how sad, too bad" , to my inspiring Diane Keaton Tiger Lady of the governmental realm, to my teacher, my mentor.... I'm still in the game because you noticed when I wanted to quit and you gave me your cell and said call anytime...but not after 9! You were a force I could only imagine to emulate and my world was better for having met you. May the arms of God hold you tightly as you watch over the many lives you've touched.

Always,
Gia

There are so many memories to share. The WVU tailgate parties, calling her "Mom" after George became one of my fraternity brothers, the political roller-coaster we both experienced, calling her "professor" as I became a student in several of her finance classes, sharing the stories of our kids and our grandchildren and so many more. I learned a lot from Sue in so many ways. I will miss her and wish her loving family well. I have loss a true friend. Rest in peace.

Dave and I have known Sue and George for over 25 years. We enjoyed many activities as members of the Candlewood Crazies at the pool club, attended the weddings, graduations, birthday parties, baby and wedding showers for the families of our group. We enjoyed many NY Eve dinner parties hosted by Sue and George and of course, the St Veronica auctions each year.
Lots of fun memories were made and long time friendships. Sue will be missed and our hearts and prayers go out to George, Melissa, George and their families.

My best memories of Sue are at the St. Veronica gift auctions. I always sat at the same table with her. I looked forward to the night because you were guaranteed a lot of laughing if Sue was present. Besides her generosity in supporting our school, It was fun watching her pick prizes for her family members, mostly her grandchildren. Sue lived for her family. She loved her family and friends with a loyalty that I am proud to say I knew her. May you Rest In Peace Sue. You will be missed.

I met Sue the day she broke ground when the new addition to St. Veronica School began in 1990. Sue was the Mayor of Howell at the time. Later I really met Sue through Terri Haemmerle. Sue was so gracious and generous. I will miss the trips to Cape May, Lancaster, NYC and wherever Sue came up with a good idea. Most of all I thank Sue for being so supportive of St. Veronica School. She never missed a Gift Auction. She was very generous donating items for the baskets and then spending so much money buying tickets. She had lots of good luck there, too. Good thing she had a big car!

May you be in the arms of God. Pray for us. I surround George and your family with prayers. Until we meet again.....! ❤️

I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Suzanne. We worked together for many, many years at the Land O' Pines School in Howell as volunteers in the school. She was always there to assist me, when I was the PTO President or Chairperson of a committee, along with other PTO members and staff.  She was such a hardworking individual at any event, activity or fundraiser at Land O' Pines. Sue was a joy to be around and I knew I could ALWAYS count on her for everything and anything!! She was the BEST and will be truly missed by everyone who was blessed to know her. Rest In Peace.

We have known Sue for many years from going to the pool club. She would show up get her table ready, depending on the day maybe a margarita maybe a dip in the pool, or she would do a stop in before she had to leave for class.
Sue was a great story teller also. Sue would talk about the "passing of the tablecloth" ceremony that we needed to have as she called her crew there the "Crazies" and how we would be the "Crazies 2.0" as she would say. She was loved by many and cared for so many, she would look out for her friends and a mother to us all. All our prayers to George and the family, Love the Merkels

While I never had the pleasure of meeting Sue in person, she and I had several chats via social media and I loved her perspective on Howell and life in general.  Her wisdom will always be cherished and my prayers are with her family.

Sue was two years ahead of me at Upsala, and proud to say she was my Theta Beta Gamma sorority sister. During pledge week she made us learn how to spell Vitemberger. I am saddened and shocked at her passing. Sue was kind , always ready to help, and always happy. She was so proud to be marrying George. She will be sorely missed.

Sue was my sorority sister and what an amazing sister she was! Not only did she leave the younger ladies an incredible example of accomplishment and friendship, we have been sharing stories of how she was there for us long after she graduated and built her life. I can speak for all of us when I say she was an amazing sister of Theta Beta Gamma Sorority and we will always love and cherish her from the bottom of our Theta hearts.

I remember Sue as such an active member for years in Land O’Pines PTO.
Always there for parents and staff and especially for her children. She was always so active and doing so much for everyone. I’m saddened to see her especially leave her loving family. My condolences to you all! God Speed!

Where to begin with so much to say about a wonderful friend who was so dear to us and so many others. We first got to know Sue and George through the St.Veronica's festival and the Candlewood Swim Club. Since that time, especially at the pool, so many good times with bringing up our families and becoming our “Candlewood Crazies” fun time group. Sue was a central figure in much of what we did to make those years so rewarding and fun. She was truly a giver and always very generous.
As time marched on, we had the pleasure of several travel adventures and cruises with George and Sue and friends. Great memories of dinners together, Cape May, dances, weddings, the ladies shopping trips, Sue's absolutely tremendous New Years Eve dinners, and so much more.
Although our hearts now ache, Sue will always remain here in our hearts and minds. Our prayers are for George and the entire family to remain strong and healthy through this very difficult time. May God bless and comfort you.

I have know Sue since the early 1980's. She shared her dedication to her family with her dedication to the Township of Howell. She was tireless worker and a loyal friend. Always ready to host a party or help organize an event. She left a lasting imprint on all and will be truly missed.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Sue (and George) for more than 25 years. It was always a pleasure to spend time with Sue at a convention or meeting. We attended the same grammar school in Jersey City for a little while, although she was several grades ahead of me. I am so sorry for your loss and will pray for her and the family.

I met Sue through Gwen Worman when I worked at St. Veronica, then of course many summers at the Candlewood Swim Club. Sue was always ready to help, plan events, and just have fun with George and their friends. She was such an interesting woman and I always loved talking to her.   My heart breaks for her family and friends at this time and am praying for you all. We have truly lost a wonderul woman.
