My oldest child is a freshman at CC. When I dropped her off on campus my mind was flooded with memories...so many of them included my dear friend. Yesterday, I was overcome with grief when I found Sven’s obituary. Only those who have watched ALS take its toll can know the struggle. I agonized as I thought of your first Christmas without him. Today, as the sun came up I recalled that Sven was joy and laughter and full of life. Sven chose to be happy. I pray that every day you choose to find joy in this life because I am certain that is what he would want you to do. He stood out among all the people I have known. It was my great privilege to have been his friend.

I knew Sven as a student in Germany, WHU Koblenz - We didn't meet for a very long time there but remained friends forever... they are people whom you meet / and there are people who go through to you, and remain: Sven was that latter type. I today find it still incredibly hard, to accept his passing. My heart bleeds. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

Remembering our gooid friend, Sven. We had many fun times with you and Charles at our home in Lakewood while the two of you were at Colorado College. You were always a very special young man and will be missed by, not only your family, but your many friends. Rest in Peace.

My clearest and dearest memories of Sven are from my youth, when Sven spent time at our house and in the neighborhood with my brother Jon. What I remember, and how I will always remember Sven was the incredibly bright smile and good natured-ness he always seemed to have. I know his gentle soul touched many people. My deepest condolences to his siblings, Ralph, Dirk and Tanja. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing to you all.

Many Boating Days

July 25, 2017

We made many a boat trip form Avista. The most reliable boat we had was this small tri-hull - the Avista Angler. The other boat we called the Alu-baba turned out to be the Alu-bummer.
