Sydni was such a sweet girl and I am so thankful I got to work with her as her assistant at RMHS for 2 years. I remember her excitement when we walked into the classroom to get settled for each day. Her favorite book would always be on her desk.
We would go to her Acting class and she would be beaming with a Big Smile as she walked up on the stage and got to bring an item to one of the actors!
In PE she would love to walk laps above the basketball court and on warmer days we would always go outside and walk 2-3 laps around the track. She would always love to watch what the other students were doing too and always had such a joyful smile!
Every day after lunch, she had the job of sitting outside our classroom door and running the paper shredder, shredding stacks of papers from our classroom. Sometimes other teachers would drop off some of their classroom papers for her to shred. They really appreciated Sydni doing this for them.
Sydni will always have a special place in my heart and I will remember the fun chuckles and caring heart she had.
Prayers for all her family as you walk through this deep time of sorrow. May you feel God's arms around you all and may he give you peace and also comfort and that you know you are not alone through this time of grief.

Chasing three year old Sydni down the hallway and through the gym right in the middle of another ward's Sunday school, after she escaped from the nursery classroom at church. She is missed. Much love to your family.

Sydni ALWAYS held a special place in my heart as well as in my husband Joe and daughters Amanda and Emily...who she combined their names and called Mandalee. They babysat her as she grew up and came home many times with a funny story. Sydni had a huge heart, a huge smile, a wonderful personality and she was just special. We will miss her but we will be able to hold onto fond memories of the many years we were lucky enough to know her.  Rest In Peace sweet girl.

Sweet Sydni was one of my students at Rocky Mountain High School. It was a blessing to me to be able to work with her.
All the things that she loved are flashing through my mind right now.
She had a Little Mermaid book that she loved so much that it had to be held together with a lot of tape and taping it was part of the fun. She thought Eric was very handsome. ❤ Our library was able to find her a new one to replace it with.
She loved to color and it was always a challenge to find the characters that she preferred.
Her laugh was big and so delightful!
Sometimes it was hard to keep up with her long strides while out walking.
She loved to shoot baskets in the gym and was a pretty good shot!
I came down with pneumonia and it left me with a cough that concerned Sydni. I would ask her not to worry and told her that it would get better. After that when I coughed, she always said, "It'll get better." Along with a reassuring pat.
She was very generous with compliments and often told me that I looked pretty or that she liked something I was wearing.
She loved to laugh, enjoyed other students being silly and had an eye for cute guys.
My phone was her phone when I was with her. She scrolled through my pictures asking questions and often remembered the people. She took as many pictures as she could before I took my phone back.
She will always have a special place in my heart and I look forward to seeing her again but this time without her disability.
What a glorious reunion it will be! ❤
Forever love,
Miss Rina
