Dearest Uncle Sly, I don't even know what to write because I should not be writing this now. Too young to go, still a whole heap of life, joy and laughter ahead of you. So sorry to you and your family when my mum told me the sad news but I will keep the happy memories and thank you for being there when you could for this young teenager at the time who had nobody or nowhere to turn to in Hackney over 20 years ago when I was dealing with circumstances beyond my control, thanks for the advise and just been there for me. Your memories, the last time we were together in November 2020 and drove to your place. The laughter and jokes we shared. You always have something nice to say about people and you respected everyone you met. Sly you were a true genius in making people feel they matter and that they are the most important in your life. Even in the sick bed you kept in touch, making everyone know that you would be back. It was a big surprise to learn from Sarah and Joshua that things changed for the worse. We expected you to pull through as you always showed the fighting spirit. Now we know that you have gone ahead of us. Hey!!, ‘Ajai’ as we fondly call each other. I don’t even know where and how to begin that I Elizabeth Ifeanyi Iwediuno nee Egbuniwe your youngest sister is sitting down to write on a tribute page created for you in the year 2021. I am filled with a mixture of emotions that I cannot explain. So many questions of Why! Why! And how did this happen? What did we miss?

The shock of hearing from the hospital that you are unlikely to make it through the night of the 3rd February 2021 was like a bad dream hoping to wake up seeing your ever smiling face but it was not to be. I was devastated emotionally and physically and I wanted some answers from God - I wanted him to explain to me why he had taken you away from us so suddenly. But who am I, to question God, who blessed our family with such a joyful, youthful, loving, caring, generous brother like yourself. Always full of life. We are so grateful to God for blessing us with the years we spent together as a family with so many good positive memories. You were a shinning star on earth, lightening up any room. Never a dull moment with you around.

As they say time is a healer - I pray to God that he will give me the strength and understanding to cope knowing that you are no more.

I pray for God’s understanding in accepting your beautiful spirit into his house. I pray that your soul is now resting in the bosom of the Lord.

We your family, your cousins and friends are all grieving at losing you so soon, but we are all consoled knowing that you did not suffer much and you are in a much better place.

He then looked down upon the earth & saw your tired but gentle soul, He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest in your heavenly place. Though we did not say goodbye but you will always be in our heart because precious memories will never die.
