This memorial website was created in memory of our mother, Oma, sister, and friend, Sylvia Reandy. At 66 years young, she passed into Heaven, on March 7, 2021. We will always cherish her humour, love, loyalty and the memories made with her.
Born March 24, 1954, she was the daughter of Erika and Roman Maliszewski. She had 5 siblings and met her husband Jackie Reandy in the early 70s.
Sylvia is survived by her mother Erika Maliszewski, her son Robert (Nicole), daughter Annette and daughter Roxann; sisters Lola, Ilona, Kathy (Dawn) and brothers Reinhardt (Melodie) and Michael (Linda); and her biggest source of joy, her 3 grandchildren, Victor, Charlie and Ben. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack.
While Sylvia had not spent as much time with Victor in the later years, she continued to love him very much and wanted nothing but happiness and success for him. Granddaughter Charlie and Sylvia had a special bond. Sylvia helped out often with babysitting and visited as much as possible. These two had many sleepovers and as of late, many video calls where they giggled like school girls and played many games together. Charlie was her "little sweetie pie". Grandson Ben was a flashback of Rob when he was little, always saying he looks just like Rob but way more crazy. Ben was her "little stinker" as she would say.
Sylvia always had a strong work ethic and took pride in her work at an airplane parts plant, even travelling to the Southern US to train others at the new plant. Sylvia got bit by the travel bug after she, Annette and Victor, attended Rob & Nicole's wedding in Mexico. Over the next years, her travels included trips to the Philippines and more adventures in Mexico but her fondest memories and biggest laughs were made and had with those closest to her; be it while chasing little rugrats, bonding at family gatherings or spending time with friends, both in and out of work. She touched everyone she met with her love, wit, and authenticity and she will be remembered every day for it.
We would love to see your photos and read your memories and stories about Sylvia. Thank you for remembering with us and healing the loss of our loved one.
Due to pandemic, we will be doing a celebration of life in a couple of months once we can gather together safely.
