Sylvia Priscilla Miller's Legacy

On February 3, 2021, After a courageous battle with a sudden illness, Sylvia slipped from the loving arms of her family into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Tomie (Walls) Kendrick; brothers, McKoy Kendrick Sr., William "Joby" Kendrick, Lemuel Kendrick; sisters, Lucy Newberry, Eula Brown, Janis Mouton; Eunice Wilson and Helen "Baby" Rucker.

Survived by her daughter, Tracy(Earl) grandchildren, Jada Blackmon ,Paris Blackmon aka Nana’s “Sweetie Pie Poo Poo”, and Grandchildren through Marriage. Plus several generations of nieces and nephews, friends and lifelong friend Jacqueline A. Whitney.

Born in Akron, Ohio to the late John Henry and Tomie Kendrick. The youngest of 9 children, she graduated from West High School, Akron, Ohio in 1953. She moved to Rochester, NY in 1964 joining  Siblings;William"Joby"Kendrick(Carrie),
 Janice Mouton, Eula Brown, and (SIL) Rebecca (McKoy Sr.) Kendrick. Sylvia began her career as an Adult Education Instructor, later returning to college and obtaining her L.P.N degree. She retired after 20 plus years to take care of beloved grandchildren. They loved being with their “Nana” and were able to honor her, by caring for her during final months. Sylvia lived a life full of love, laughter, heartache, friendships, and witty humor.

She enjoyed reading, working crosswords, mysteries, cooking, family gatherings, singing and often joked that she was "Waiting on Denzel Washington to become single"
