Our dear brother Tadesse Gessesse was born on the 21st of June 1941 from his mother Yeshihareg Yirdaw and his father Gessesse Tedla in Addis Abeba. He lived at his grandmother house in Harar until he was seven years old with his uncle, his sister and other siblings. He led a happy childhood.
Then, he returned to Addis Abeba and finished his primary and secondary school studies in Lycee Guebre Mariam. In 1952, he went to Congo with the Ethiopian peacekeeping troops and participated in peacekeeping missions in the country as a translator.

After returning to Ethiopia and graduating from Lycee Guebre Mariam, he went to France for higher education and received his Master’s degree in Development Economics. As a university student, he was profoundly concerned by Ethiopian and African current affairs, and he was an active member of many Ethiopian and African student associations. He was able to work closely and exchange ideas with other Africans who have achieved great things in their respective countries today. He then worked for 2 years in management and Information technology fields.

In 1967, he returned to Ethiopia and worked in various governmental organizations and private companies for the following 20 years or so, such as the ministry of foreign affairs, Yekatit 66 school, UNDP, UNECA, Consumers International etc...

In his free time, he participated in many community projects as that was one of his greatest ambitions in life. He founded the Ethiopian Chess Federation and was the Chairman for many years. He also built Petanque courts in an effort to encourage elder members of the community to stay active. He played a big role in an Ethiopian association who imported several dialysis machines in order to help those who suffer from kidney failure. He was an active member in the French Rotary and has participated in multiple caritative missions in Ethiopia.He was very generous and always looked for ways to help people and better the community.

In addition, Tadesse has published 4 books in total, of which two were health related, as well as many interesting articles around various subjects. He was passionate about the origin of mankind, space, health, charity, bettering the community and always preached about tolerance and love. He was very reliable and always there for the people he loved. He lived a full life and always made jokes, sometimes even about himself. He had a very positive mindset. He had five children, and three grandchildren.
