we wanted to let you all  know that  in the early hours of Tuesday (feb 10), our precious auntie tae passed quietly in her sleep.

naomi got the call around 4 am.   the wonderful gals who took care of auntie said that when they went in to check on her at 11pm, she was awake and responsive.   but when they went back a few hours later, she had slipped away.   

when naomi got the early morning news, she called auntie's devoted spiritual sister,  wanda to let her know.  wanda called her overseer,  brother (barney) oliva, and he offered a prayer for auntie, and wanda then drove to the home to sit with tae.    it is so heartwarming for us to know that the devotion and spiritual support  from her Jehovah's witness family remained ever present.  

her ability to recognize or remember our faces may have waned, but tae's memory of Jehovah was a constant. 


we wanted to give thanks to our long time family friends, setsuko wentz and her son gary, devoted Jehovah's witnesses, who allowed auntie to live in their back house for so many years.  

and when auntie could no longer live on her own, we were so fortunate that tae was able to move to a supported environment at the 'deluxe home' in long beach, where the gals all called her 'auntie'.   they truly loved our quirky little tae…. zenaida, leah and her main caregiver annie, made us feel that she was with extended family and their affection for her was always a comfort.

we wanted you all to be aware of auntie's passing, and the knowledge that it was peaceful, and in a loving environment.
