Michael Tait Hendrix, 27, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Lake Caroline. He was born on October 8, 1986 in Dallas, TX to Steve and Melinda Hendrix. 
Tait grew up loving life, family, friends, and athletics. He was a lifetime member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Tait was an Eagle Scout. As a member of both the Mississippi Heat and Jackson Prep baseball teams, he won nine straight state championships.
He graduated from Jackson Prep in 2005 with highest honors and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was an MPSA two sport All-Star. 
Tait went on to enjoy athletic and academic success at Millsaps College. He was a 2005 recipient of the Else and Presidential Scholarship. While at Millsaps, his baseball team won 135 games, the most of any four year span in school history. They also won one conference championship and participated in two NCAA Regionals. Tait was named First Team All-Conference as a pitcher and outfielder. He was one of a few pitchers at Millsaps to reach the 200 strikeout milestone. In 2009, he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
Following college, Tait coached a year at Jackson Prep. He returned to school for pre-requisite course work and was to begin Dental School at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in August, 2014. Tait was an avid Crossfit trainer and enjoyed wake-boarding, tennis, biking, and traveling. He loved adventure.
He is survived by his parents, his brother Tal and his wife Leah, nephew Cobb, and niece Ann Mabry, two grandmothers, six cousins, and numerous other family members. Memorials can be made to the Millsaps College Baseball Team or the Broadmoor Baptist Youth Department.
Tait was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend who will always be loved by many and deeply missed.
