Mokube Peter Teke was born on the 4th of January 1966 in Tiko, Fako Division by late Paul and Frida Mokube of Dikome Balue, Ndian Division. He was the sixth of seven boys. He also had six step siblings.

Teke attended St Joseph College Sasse and after his graduation in 1983 proceeded to study for his A’ Levels in CCAST Bambili graduating in 1985.

Teke obtained a government scholarship to study in London and was accepted in City University of London to study Mathematical science. He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Mathematical science in 1989. He then went on to obtain a master’s degree at Sheffield University, reading Mathematical Statistics two years later.

Upon completion of his Master’s degree, Teke returned to Cameroon and gained employment at the University of Buea. He worked at the university until his appointment to work at ANTIC in Yaounde, Cameroon.

Teke was married to Electa Mokube and leaves behind three children.
