Her Life

Adulthood

February 16, 2011

Teresa graduated high school with honors, and married Christopher Martin Hall, of Minnesota.  They moved to Minnesota where he was stationed while serving in the United States Air Force.  They stayed close to his family, and welcomed a beautiful daughter into their lives on March 4, 1980: Jennifer Rebecca Hall.  Chris was stationed at Tinker Air Force Base next, and so they moved back to Oklahoma, where Teresa was near her family.  In 1984, they welcomed another daughter, Karen Rachel, on January 17, 1984.  Three years later, they welcomed their youngest child, Sarah Renee, into the world, on April 4, 1987.

Teresa substitute taught when she was needed in special education classes at both East Side and Jarman.  You could see her at almost any time cruising the neighborhood in her manual wheelchair, chugging along to get from one school to another.

Teresa spent her time between hospital stays and doctor appointments taking care of her daughters and husband.  She was at every school activity for all three girls, even when it meant traveling to three schools in one day.  Teresa was a girl scout leader for all three of her daughter's troops, taught Acteens at her church (a community service organization for teenage Christian girls), taught in the Children's Music Activity program at her church, and was an active member of the PTA at East Side Elementary School and Jarman Junior High School, even getting as high as president of the PTA.

No matter what her family needed, Teresa provided it, all with a smile on her face.  She was always there to comfort not only her children, but any child that needed anything.  She worked with many charities and helped where ever and whenever she was needed.

Teresa welcomed two grandsons into the world while she was still living, Alexander Christopher (now Aiden Pierce) and Tyler Lee (now Asher). Teresa lived for her children and grandchildren.  She loved the boys more than anything, and was always planning fun things to do with them. She was the best Nana an child could ever ask for.

A few days after she passed away, her youngest daughter, Sarah, had her first granddaughter, Alyssa Lynn, named for her Nana.

Youth

Teresa was born to Robert Roland Lesage Sr and Julia Ann Goodall Lesage in Madrid, Spain on July 23, 1960.  She had an older brother, Robert Roland Lesage II, and a younger sister, Deborah Ann.  She moved several times and landed in Oklahoma at a young age, living close to her tight knit family of uncles and aunts.  She was raised by her mother and loving uncles and aunts in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

She attended Soldier Creek Elementary School, Carl Albert Junior High, and Carl Albert High School.  She was honored with many awards and recognized as a wonderful student throughout her school years.

Teresa was born with Gaucher's disease.  She spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals as a child, and on through adulthood.  Even though she was often hurting, she always found a way to put others first, which continued on into adulthood.
