This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Terry Northcutt, 56 years old, born on July 6, 1957, and passed away on July 3, 2014. We will remember him forever.

Terry Van Northcutt, 56, of Point, passed away Thursday morning at his residence. Funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Smyrna Union Church in Emory with Bro. Montie Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening, 6-8 PM, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.

Terry was born on July 6, 1957, in Dallas, to Oren Van and Betty Joyce Ballard Northcutt. He worked many years as a machinist for his father, Oren, at Dal-Air Castings in Point. First, he managed the Houston plant, then moved back to North Texas to work at the Point foundry. Due to health issues, Terry was unable to work in the last few years of his life, and lived with his mother, Betty.

Terry so loved his dogs Luke, Molly and his beloved Sophie, and could be seen walking them down the street on a regular basis. Terry was an avid remote control airplane enthusiast and also enjoyed working on cars, and of course keeping the riding lawn mower running, which was a daily job. Terry was a sports fan. He followed the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, and he enjoyed going to and watching Nascar races as well.

Hi Daddy, 5 years is crazy to me to not be able to hear your voice or have your hugs. I can’t express just how much we love and miss you. You would be spoiling the crap out of Kinsley for sure. I think she sees you sometimes. She talks about you all the time. We go over pictures and talk about what happened. She would be wrapped around your finger and you hers. Hugs and kisses forever until we meet again! HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY!

Terry was a father who loved his daughter and grandchildren very much. I met him at one of the most difficult times in Jessica's life. Despite the physical distance he has always been a supportive loving dad and never let her down. I too, felt great comfort in his presence and it was obvious that Jessica was the apple of his eye. He was kind, gentle and loving.

To my sweet daddy,
I just wanted to thank you for being my dad. I am truly honored that god picked you for me. I will always be your daddy's little girl. I cherish every moment we spent together and look forward to day I can see you again. I know you are in a much better place, walking hand in hand with The Lord and all your pain has gone. I find so much comfort in knowing how much you loved me and your grand babies. We all love you so much and will miss you each and every second of the day. I know you will be watching over us everyday from above. I will never say this is goodbye, this is not the end because I will see you again.

                         With so much love,
                             Forever and always, your angel

My first car

July 6, 2014
One of my favorite memories was when my dad bought me my first car. It was a black Honda civic 5 speed. I lived in Tulsa so I had to come to Texas and drive it back home. I didn't know how to drive a stick yet so my dad took me out on the back roads and tried to teach me. That whole week was hilarious for the both of us because I couldn't get the hang of it to get it out of 1st gear. I ended up killing it almost everytime I had to stop at a light. Everyone would honk at me at the lights and we would just laugh and laugh. Finally I did well enough to drive it back to Tulsa with him following behind me. I cherish that experience with him so much!
