Tevera Gilbert Davis, 51, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Wednesday,  July 3rd, 2013 at her home

She was a native of Dekalb Co., Indiana and the daughter of the late Robert Eugene and Wilma Hathaway Gilbert.  She was of the Baptist Faith and a manager with Verizon for many years.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 6th, 2013 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor, NC by Reverend Thomas Lamm. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Charlottesville, Virginia on Sunday, July 7th at 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband of thirty years, Chester A. Davis of the home, twin girls, Skylar Davis Gallemore of Raleigh and Chandler Davis of the home, a son, Elliott Davis of the home and seven surviving siblings.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Duke Childrens Hospital, 2301 Erwin Road, Durham, NC 27710.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 6th, 2013 from 11:30 to 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.

Chester,
It is hard to imagine how one will be able to carry on after losing their best friend and wife. May God give you strength during this difficult time. Tevera was a special person and will be missed. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted."  Matthew 5:4

While I contemplate the loss of a colleague and friend, I know that her pain is over. Tevera was always there for me and I was lucky to count her as a friend. Time will pass and the sorrow will diminish, but her memory will last for all time. Tevera was the epitome of kindness. Semper Fi, T. Miss you and wish we could have had one more talk. Nicholas

Tevera you have been taken to early but I am glad that you will not suffer anymore, can be at peace, no longer in pain. You taught me a lot. some of that has me where I am today. From my family to all of you our prayers and thoughts are with all of you. You will be able to look down from heaven with a smile known all the things that you have done in your life, bless you. Love Julie

Word can't express the loss of losing such a wonderful friend; Tevera impacted everyone she interacted with. She will be missed and never forgotten!!! I pray for comfort on the hearts of the Davis Family. You all were the light of her life and I don’t think i ever had a conversation with her, where she wasn't smiling and telling a story about her family!! God Bless, Tanya Howard Smith

Tevera was a very kind lady. she was a great mom .our children grew up together from the baseball fields to graduation . It was always nice to see her smiling face at all these functions. SHE WILL SURELY BE MISSED!!!  GOD BLESS  MIKE &JUDY ROBBINS
