I met Thad through my sister-in-law JUANITA.  She was best friends with his sister Stephanie.  One day he came to my mom's house and asked me out.  I was the biggest tomboy and was surprised he had even noticed me.  He said he had been asking Juanita about me and she would always tell him to come and talk to me if he was interested in me and he finally got up the courage to do so.  Our first date was so funny.  We were supposed to go to the movies but ended up at his mom's house where he cooked fried chicken rice and green beans.  We sat in the small kitchen and ate and talked.  He had on a red cut off shirt and a pair of yellow sweatpants and tennis shoes.  I thought 'this boy is not color coordinated at all.  But he could cook!!  He loved to BBQ on the grill.
