Thelma L. Griffin, age 86, of Dayton, OH went to be with the Lord on Monday January 6, 2020.
She was born on August 13, 1933 in Dubb, Mississippi to the late Anthony and Mary Ann Brooks. She married Barrett Griffin and they made their home in Tunica, Mississippi where they owned and operated Griffin Grocery & BBQ. Thelma managed the store until she had to care for her ailing mother. After Barret preceded her in death, Thelma and her children moved to Dayton, Ohio where she was employed at Kettering Convalescent Home.Thelma was also preceded in death by her Brother, Anthony Brooks and three sisters, Freda Guy, Classy Woods, and Irene Bounds.
Thelma leaves to cherish her memory her children,Son Jerry (Victoria) Griffin and Daughter Vivian (Ronald) Duncan;One Brother; Tony Brooks; three grandchildren; Ashley Duncan, Derrick Griffin, and Anthony Griffin;Special Granddaughters Tamera(Gene) Moore, Vanessa and Shae Kinnel; Special great-grand children; Gene B. Moore III and Rachel Moore; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held Monday, January 13, 2020 at Corinthian Baptist Church. Viewing to begin at 10am and service to follow. Interment Shiloh Park.
