This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one,Thelma Lea Elizabeth Langford Hoy, beloved mother, and grandmother, and long time resident of El Paso, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 27th 2013, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Lovelace Gentiva Hospice. Thelma was born in Wilburton, Oklahoma on March 18,1928 to Martin and Donnie Langford. She grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas where she met her husband, Harry Hoy, and later moved to El Paso,Texas. Thelma and Harry owned Hoy's Club/Restaurant, and Hoy's Stables on Montana Ave in El Paso for many years.She had a love for the outdoors, singing, and dancing. She loved flowers, and always wore a smile. She would light up when she saw her family and friends. Thelma had a great love for her family, and was warm and caring, and will live in a special place in the hearts of her children. Harry predeceased Thelma. She is survived by her 3 of 4 children, Debra Louise Hoy Barnes, Rhonda Elizabeth Hoy Scott, and Ronald Evans Hoy, and Scott Thomas Hoy deceased in 1996; her son in law Michael Scott, Valera Knight, Gerald Brady, and grandchildren,Scotty Doug, William, Trey, David, Chase, Cody, Chance,Trey Jr., Christian, and Ryan, and many nieces, and nephews. A private graveside service will be at Evergreen Cemetery East for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Scotsdale Baptist Church in El Paso, Texas. We will remember her forever.
