Our beloved mother and grandmother, Thelma Stevens age 87, passed in Houston, Texas, on Saturday March 27, 2021. Thelma now rests with our Lord Jesus Christ and her awaiting family, including her high school sweetheart and husband James Woodruff Stevens sister Wanda Easley and daughters Diane Pace Forner and Renee Pace. She graduated from Lamar High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta.
She had a kind soul, warm heart, charming manner, lovely laugh, and soft demeanor. She was a talented cook and enjoyed spending time outdoors, bird watching, and traveling with her family. A lifelong Houstonian, Thelma is survived by her granddaughter Robin Forner Keithley, her stepchildren Clayton Stevens , Garth Stevens and Katherine Pontin, and her 9 step-grandchildren.
The Rev. Stuart Bates will lead a memorial service to celebrate her life on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at Woodlawn funeral home located at 1101 Antoine Dr. Houston Tx 77055 at 10:00a.
