Theodore Stanley was born April 28, 1925, in Lamberton, Minn., the son of Lawrence and Clara (Voxland) Doten. He attended school in Detroit Lakes, Minn. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946.

On Oct. 5, 1946, he married Irene Nelson in Minneapolis, Minn. The couple lived in various places in Minnesota while he worked for the railroad. In 1961, they moved to Wausa, where Ted owned a radio repair and sales business. Later on, he worked as the high school custodian and bus driver until moving to Norfolk in 1978, where he worked for the Norfolk Regional Center. Ted retired in 1991.

He is survived his children, Bonnie (Bruce) Linafelter of Thornton, Colo., Roland Doten of Norfolk and Carol (Ron) Wischhof of Ceresco; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ted was preceded in death by his spouse, Irene; a son, Terry; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bob Willett; and a sister, Delores Neahring of Nehalem, Ore.

This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Theodore Doten. Ted proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. We will remember him forever.
