MIss Me But Let me Go
When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set on me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
why cry for a soul set free.
Miss me a little--but not too long,
and not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared,
miss me--but let me go.
For this is a journey that we all must take,
and each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
go to the friends we know.
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
miss me--but let me go.
Video from Dawn
This Video was made by Dawn Theresa's friend in California. She took movies when they were out visiting last year. We played this at Theresa's memorial and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Thanks Dawn, this is so special, you are an angel!
She was PeeWee much of grade school, Teri McKendrick for her teen years and Theresa Rodriguez, as an adult. I am so sad to say that she died yesterday. Terri was the true example of the saying..dynamite comes in small packages. She was 4’10” and 4’11” –depending on when you ask her. She was full of energy, love and compassion, and a super spitfire! She did want she wanted, and would call it like it was. Many of us first met Terri when we were about 9 years old at Magnolia. Since then, many years have passed, and I am happy to still be friends with Terri. The last time I saw Teri was last year in November. Sheri Benato and I got to spend a couple days with her. What a treat for us. We reminisced about many things over the years. Teri was very compassionate and loved her friends and would do anything for you. While we were with her we learned what about groups of people she took care of in her neighborhood. One morning we woke up and she was not there, but we found her sweeping all the neighbors walkways and moving their newspapers from the lawn to the doorstep, because she said it made it ‘easier for them’. Some people she knocked on the door, said good morning and gave them their paper, many were older and she loved them and looked after them. She also knew everyone at the store, the local sports bar, and everywhere else she went. And when I say “knew them”, I mean she knew everything about them. Many of us also know the amazing memory she had, she was famous with several of us for calling us up out of the blue and reminding us of things that happened in 7th or 8th grade, that we either didn’t remember or didn’t want to remember, but to her these were all treasures, all her memories were her most precious treasures. Oh, Did I mention spit-fire? I think all her friends and neighbors will miss her, even the ones that complained about her using the weed eater in the nude..why should they care, she would say…she has a fence..dont look. That was Terri.... Terri’s favorite saying was..I’m here for a good time, not for a long time. Guess she was right. She will always be a part of my memories, and everyone who’s life she touched.
