Thomas Julian Beall, Jr. passed away on Sunday, May 29th, 2011 at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn Alabama.

Mr. Beall, 82, was born Saturday, March 30th 1929 in West Point Georgia, to Thomas Julian Beall Sr. and Marie Miller Beall. His sister was the late Betty Beall Baker of Vero Beach, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie Bruce Beall. Together Julian and Marjorie had four children, Byron Bruce Beall, Thomas Julian Beall, III, Aileene Beall Goodner and Marie Elizabeth Beall. Twelve grandchildren along with three great grandchildren survive him. He was also the grandfather of the late Mary Beth Goodner.

Mr. Beall attended Culver Military Academy, and was a graduate of Emory University at Oxford where he was captain of the wrestling team. He was President of the TJ Beall Company, founded by his father in 1936. He continued to be an active member of the company – coming into the office most days up until two months before his death. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in West Point. He loved spending time in Destin, Florida with his family for many years and was an avid fisherman. His family members as well as many dear friends will miss him.

Visitation will be held at McCarthy Funeral Home in West Point from 5:00 – 7:00PM on Tuesday May 31st. The funeral will be held on Wednesday June 1st at 10:00am at the Church of the Resurrection, followed by a graveside service at the Marseilles Cemetery, West Point. The Reverend Doug Crossman will officiate.

Julian, as we called him in Destin, was an avid fisherman aboard the Charter Boat SUNRISE with Capt. Kelly Windes. He was quick with a joke and was well liked with his positive attitude and happy demeanor. When the fishermen were faced with being pushed out of Destin and raised capital to build a marina of their own, Julian stepped up as a "friend of the fishermen" and became a partner with them to keep the charter boats in Destin.  We are proud to call him our friend!
