Thomas C Bell memorial

Born June 23, 1934 in Peru, Indiana to Henry Oscar Bell and Mary Helen Collier Bell.

Thomas was a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout Order of the Arrow honor.

Thomas graduated from Peru High School in 1952.

Thomas joined the Army in 1953 and spent 2 years in Germany. He spent a total of 4 years in the Army.

Thomas married Nancy Rae Bakehorn on November 15, 1959. They were divorced in 1987.

Thomas attended night school at Miller-Draughon College in Cincinnati Ohio and graduated with a  degree in Higher Accounting and Business Administration.

Thomas was a self-employed Accountant for much of his life.

Thomas took flying lessons in the late 1980’s and in January 1990 he earned the Chuck Yeager Aerospace Education Achievement Award.

Thomas was awarded, in October 1990, the rank of Kentucky Colonel for his outstanding achievements in the Civil Air Patrol of Northern Kentucky.

Thomas was a Legionnaire in the American Legion for Latonia Post 203.

Thomas spent much of his free time researching the Bell family history (Genealogy). He was able to track and validate the Bell family history back to Armiger Lilley Bell in 1771.

Thomas volunteered as a Family History Research Assistant at the National Underground Railroad Museum in downtown Cincinnati Ohio where he helped museum patrons find records of their family heritage.

Thomas loved to travel. Over the years, Thomas took his family all over the country for a traditional family vacation. Many times, the vacations included a stop or two for Genealogy exploration, but the family always had a good time.

Thomas had a special sense of humor. He kept his sense of humor all the way to the end.

Thomas was never called Father, he was always our Dad.

Thomas lived in Ludlow Kentucky from 1960 until 2012.

Thomas moved to Covington Kentucky in 2012 and lived there until he died of kidney failure on September 11 2020 in the Cincinnati VA Hospice Center.

Thomas is survived by his two sons, Mark A Bell and David L Bell.
