This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Thomas Breen, 63 years old, born on March 12, 1957, and passed away on April 5, 2020. We will remember him forever.
Thomas Christopher Breen was born in Dublin on 12 March 1957 to parents Shamus Camillus Breen and Barbara Ann Breen and he came into this world with his twin brother Jimmy, with whom he had an everlasting bond. He also had two other younger brothers Eddie & Marty. And then later on when his father remarried the family extended futhur and he had a new stepmum Joan, three sisters, Karen, Joanne & Tina and another younger brother Tony. He lived in Birmingham and then Blackley, Manchester for most of his life.
He was with his loving wife Marion for 41 wonderful treasured years and in that time they had two amazing children together, Michael & Nichola and a beautiful grandaughter Neve.
As well as being a wonderful Husband, Dad & Grandad. Tommy was also a cherished Brother/Brother in law, Nephew, Cousin, Uncle and Son. A great friend. And a very caring father figure to Steph and Paul, his children's partners whom he took into the family and treated as his own.
He was a devoted family man who loved his family so very much. He dedicated his life to his family, his family was his world and he was theirs. He was Marion’s rock, best friend, soul mate, her absolute world and to the children and grandchildren, he was the greatest Dad/Grandad you could ever ask for. Their hero and best friend too.
Tommy was one of life’s gentleman. A strong selfless, compassionate family man with a huge heart who would do anything for anyone, always putting everyone first and always making sure everyone was okay. His personality was infectious. and he had a sense of humour like no other. His dry sarcastic wit will be missed just as much as his generosity, love and kindness. He was the most loving and caring person anyone could meet. He brought laughter, happiness and joy into our lives and put a smile on the faces of everyone who met him. He touched the lives of so many people in so many different ways and left them all with beautiful lasting memories of him.
During his earlier years, Tommy was a very hardworker who did lots of various jobs in order to support his families needs. But ill health took its toll and he developed several health conditions, which meant he had to retire from work early. But he never let his illnesses get him down. Some of the jobs included, working at Ward and Goldstones as an overseer, a taxi driver for Dolphin Cabs and he also worked for the Manchester Evening News as a marshall and van driver. He also helped to run a disabled club on a voluntary basis with his twin brother, which he enjoyed immensely.
He loved cooking, going on holidays, and spending quality time with his family. His car was his pride and joy and he loved nothing more than going on various daily outings with his wife Marion, to places like Blackpool, New Brighton, Hollingsworth Lake, or even just going for a coffee, in order that they could spend precious time together.
Tommy wasn’t a materialistic sort of person, surrounding himself with personal items.
He never made big plans for the future like going on cruises or dream holidays. Any plans that he and Marion made were on a daily basis. And their biggest dream was looking forward to spending their old age together. And taking care of their family.
One thing Tommy did get pleasure from was his car which was his pride and joy and he loved going on various daily outings with his wife Marion, to places like Blackpool, New Brighton, Hollingsworth Lake, or even just going for a coffee, in order that they could spend precious time together.
Tommy was a strong willed person and he fought all his life against anything that he came up against. Even during his latest hospital admission, he displayed so much strength of character as he battled and fought his hardest for 8 days and nights against the cruel disease, to try to get back home to his loving family. But it was not to be. His family are so proud of the fight he fought and the courage he shown during that time to try to get back home with them.
One of the last text messages he sent to his family whilst he was in hospital was: "I'm giving it my all. Cannot really talk. Let the kids know I'm okay and you. Will be back for you all. Missing you so much. Love you all." Signed off with love hearts.
Tommy was kind, caring, funny, selfless & compassionate, had a sense of humour like no other and he had such a big heart. His personality was infectious. He would do anything for anyone always putting everyone first and always making sure everyone was okay. He was a legend, our Hero and we will never forget him for the rest of our lives.
Throughout his life, Tommy touched the lives of so many people in so many different ways and left them all with beautiful lasting memories of him. He will be greatly and sadly missed by many.
"Tommy you will always be part of us all and you will remain with us in our minds, our thoughts and our hearts every single day. We miss you so so much. We will never ever forget you and we will always love you until the day we can all be back together again forever."
"Tommy was not just a statistic he was a much loved family member and friend who had so much more to give in this world. He will never be forgotten".
