My dad was born on 26 Sep 1932 at Germantown, Bracken, Kentucky, to the
late Samuel Thomas and Mary Salome (Goecke) Todd. He was born in a log
home on his grandfather land. His father and his grandfather were
tobacco farmers, they were very poor farms, He was the 2nd oldest of
four children. My dad's family only had one indoor plumbing and that was
in his grandfather house but only the ladies could use it and the
children and the men had to go to the outhouse, and his family did not
get their first home phone line and electricity in house until he was in
collage. He graduated from the University of Kentucky around 1954 at
the age of 22yr after graduation he joined the Air Force from 1954 until
1962, he was a navigator and he was also servicing during the Koren
war, he was honorary discharge at the rank of Capt. After his military
service he went back to school and graduation from North Carolina State.
with Masters degree in nuclear engineering. On 10 Jul 1965 he married
his true love Constance Ernestine "Connie" Bourdeau in Ware, Hampshire,
Massachusetts. they were happily married for over 54yrs. With in their
beautiful, strong , and happy marriage, they adopted 4 beautiful child,
their 1st child was Michael from Ware, Massachusetts, and then they
adopted their 2nd child was Julie from Nashville, Tn, their last two
children was (myself) and Lisa from Bogotá, Colombia,South America. He
raised all his children in Knox, Tn.
His mother Mary Salome Goecke passed away on December 5, 1982, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 79.
After
all his children grow up and moved out on their own, he and his wife
moved to Mathews, NC and the build their dream house and he lived until
his departure.
His father Samuel Thomas "Sam" Todd passed away on September 16, 1994, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 90.
My
father died on January 5, 2019, with his true love by his side in
Monroe, North Carolina, at the age of 86. My dad lived a full and great
full and very successful life and was a life long fan (64yrs) of the
Kentucky Wild Cats football and basket ball teams, he never tried to
miss a game on Tv or on the radio.
I could never have ask for a better father then what GOD has give me in my life.
