His Life

My Brother

July 25, 2012

My brother was only a few years older than me, but at times I think he felt a lot older than that. My brother was very protective over me. He was always there for me when I needed him and I knew that I could talk to him about any problems I had.

Eric was a character. He always had a story to tell which put a smile on your face. He had a lot of close friends and was always the life of the party.

One of the things that I respected the most about my brother was that even though he had such a high energized attitude, he had a big, sentimental heart which he didn’t always like to show. If I had to choose one word to describe him it would be passion; passionate about anything he put time into; passionate about sports and music, passionate about hunting and fishing, and passionate about his family.  He worked extremely hard with his new business and all his customers loved the passion he displayed for them and the job at hand.

Some of my brother’s favorite things besides his family and friends were playing music, sports and the outdoors. As a vocalist and bassist, Eric spent hundreds of dedicated hours in his studio fine-tuning his skills.  He enjoyed practicing and rehearsing with the many musicians he came to know over the years.  Those musicians became close family and friends.  He loved being on stage and creating an atmosphere in which everyone could have a good time.

Eric was a huge football fan and never missed a Pittsburg Steeler’s game.  He would never miss an opportunity to argue with any rival team’s fan who was brave enough to step forward and debate.

He loved spending time and relaxing at the many lakes and ponds around Ohio and was an avid fisherman. He often would tell me stories about the fish he caught or the river monster that got away; some were true but most exaggerated in good fun.  I will always cherish those stories.

I'll miss you very much Eric.  You were my brother.
