Thomas H. Thompson, 81, of Millville passed away on January 17, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Sherry (Cline), children Lynne deGlavina of Hagerstown, Maryland, Michael Thompson (Julie DeFelice), Amanda Moncrief (Larry), and Thomas G Thompson (Bethany Butler) all from Millville.  Grandchildren are Jon Braunsma Jr, Alexa deGlavina; Bonnie, Benjamin, and Rebecca Moncrief; and Eva and Gil Thompson.  He was predeceased by parents Lawrence and Agnes (Bulmer) Thompson, brothers Lawrence, John, Jim and Bill Thompson, sister Margaret Bara and granddaughter Brooke Moncrief.
Mr. Thompson proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an engineer from 1959-1962, and in the Naval Reserves from 1962-1965.  He served aboard the U.S.S. Providence, which was the Admiral’s Flagship at the time.  He was a retired lieutenant from the Millville Police Department, serving from 1965 until his retirement in 1990.
Tom was a dedicated family man, thoroughly devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.  He consistently put the needs of others ahead of himself. He enjoyed observing nature and wildlife, and was quite knowledgeable in these fields.  He liked to travel (his favorite destination was Montana), and he was a good cook.  He was gifted in many areas, including upholstery, carpentry, and virtually anything that needed fixing.
He was loving and generous, and his wisdom and wit was much appreciated by all who knew him.  He will be sorely missed.
A public viewing will be held Wed., Jan. 25, 2023 at First Assembly of God Church, 1700 Wheaton Ave., Millville, NJ, from 10-11AM. Funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

To Mike and his family,

I was very saddened to read of your Father's passing. As I started my career at the Millville Police Department in 1990, your Father was ending his. I never got the chance to work with him but I heard nothing but good things about him. I was told that not only was he a great Lieutenant to work for but was an even better person. I hope the memories of him will provide comfort and always be a blessing to all of you.
