Christmas With Family

May 17, 2016

December 25, 2013, we celebrated Chritmas at home with family.  We had invited all Thomas's sisters and brothers and family to come for Christmas dinner.  It was a joyous occasion and Thomas was in his favorite place...... the kitchen... preparing food for his family and of course the nieces were right there beside him helping out.  There was so much laughter in our home that day. Everyone had a wonderful time and the food was delicious.  Thomas was all smiles and he enjoyed himself so much .  He was so happy.....   He loved listening to Bobby play the piano, and sat listening to him that evening after everyone had left.   He was so proud of Bobby. I am so glad he had that time with his family all together because 7 weeks later God called him Home.

Best Friends

October 19, 2015

Thomas had 2 guys that was his best friends. Devil Savoy and Vincent Proctor.  Both of these gentlemen were around for the 42 years Thomas and I were together.  Their wives were always over and we enjoyed many cook outs and fishing trips.  We went to Virginia Beach for the weekend and Thomas had a great time.  It was the first trip he made with me.

Devil was a carpenter and could build a house from ground up. He was adding on to his home and many an evening when Thomas got off work, we would go over to his house so Thomas could help him. The same would go for Devil, if Thomas needed help he was always there.

Vincent was Thomas's fishing buddy.  His wife and I were great friends and we all spent many a weekend fishing.  Sometimes off the bank and others on a boat. We cooked out alot and had many good times.

Thomas passed away in February 2014, Vincent passed away May 2014 and Devil passed away July 2014.  I like to think of them as all together laughing and enjoying the stories they used to tell.

Husband

October 15, 2015

Thomas, was a wonderful husband,  He was caring and thoughtful.  We had many wonderful times together.  We made many plans and were making plans for when he retired from work.  He was so looking forward to retiring.

Thomas was not one to do much traveling but we did go to visit our son in NY twice  and Thomas had a ball.  He was still talking about it in January of 2014.  It did my heart good to see Thomas and Bobby get along so good.  Not only was Thomas his stepfather, but he was a friend.

We moved into our new home in June of 2009.  It took Thomas about a week before he knew all the neighbors.  Our neighborhood was filled with retirees and the ladies walked their dogs every morning and evening by our house and always stopped to talk with Thomas.  If anyone in the neighborhood needed help they knew they could count on Thomas.  He loved people and was happiest when he was around people especially his family.

It was shocking when God called Thomas home so suddenly and at his funeral our whole neighborhood showed up to pay their respects.  As did the owners of the company Thomas had worked for.   I will miss Thomas until the day I am called home and he stands at my side once again.

Special Events in Thomas's Life

October 15, 2015

Thomas was the son of John & Jane Pinkney. He had a large loving family of brothers and sisters.  Thomas went to school in Prince Georges County.  He held several jobs in his life time. He was well liked on any job that he held.  He was a reliable worker and could always be counted on.

Thomas married his wife in 1989 although they had been together since 1972.  They bought their first home in 2009 and Thomas was very happy there.  He had many plans for upgrading his home and had just bought a shed for the back yard at Christmas of 2013.

Thomas always wanted a new Dodge Truck, which he finally purchased in November 2013.

On February 15 2014 God called Thomas home.  He will be missed.
