This day for me included morning meditaion at Lake Baldwin with the huge red fireball rising in the East.  My thoughts were fond of birthdays past and the "you would not believe it, we had a blast".  I was laughing as I heard Tom's voice, and I joked that he better be looking after me.
 I drive by the house with the dane in the yard.  I see the dogs walking their families, which remind me of you.

I am ending my day with prayers of peace for Mike and your family. 
We miss you very much!

Sampson was a great Pet Therapy dog. Good natured with Tom putting a gown, booties, hat and mask on him.  The patients loved seeing them.
  ThIs picture was taken in Tampa at the AARC Meeting when we had lunch together in 2011. 

Tom was the incoming Respiratory Education Coordinator at St. Joseph's Hospital when we met in 1995.  He was very dedicated to the young lives that he treated and monitored in the Pedaitric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (PCVICU). 
He was kneeling on a stretcher assisting a baby as they rolled down the hallway to the OR. In passing me, he asked me to bring a vent to the OR doors for him, stat.  I recall the firm urgency in his voice.


One afternoon I had a call to come home immediately.  Tom offered to drive me home.  My daughter had been hit by a car and taken to a local ER in Pinellas.  I will never forget his kindness and caring.  He offered a prayer to me at that time, which seemed to me, as a Mother, as a caregiver, my saving grace.  

He loved the Pitt Panthers!
