Thomas Joseph Novack, 66, died October 7, 2011 with his family by his side in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Tom was born February 2, 1945 in Buffalo, NY to Joseph and Jeanette Novack. During his high school years, Tom enjoyed playing baseball, basketball,and hockey. Tom graduated Depew High School in 1963.

Tom moved to California to attend Northrop Institute of Technology; graduating with a degree in engineering in 1972.

Tom's career with ARCO Chemical brought the family to Philadelphia, PA in 1974. During his 30 years with ARCO Chemical, Tom held several interesting and challenging positions. Project Engineer, Government Relations - testifying before Congress on major environmental legislation, Mergers and Acquisitions - traveling to Korea, Japan and Indonesia.

Tom earned a Masters in Business Administration in 1994 and a Masters in Education (Mathematics) in 1999 at Widener University in Chester, PA.

ARCO moved Tom to Houston, TX in 1999 after merging with Lyondell. Tom retired from Lyondell in 2004 to pursue a career in teaching.

Tom loved to have fun. Whether he was hunting, fishing, boating, playing poker, or spending time with his family, he always knew how to have a good time.

Tom especially enjoyed the outdoors - from the woods and mountains of Pennsylvania to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico near Seabrook, TX. The mountains called Tom home in 2010 when he moved back to Pennsylvania to build a log home near Scranton.

Tom was blessed with five beautiful daughters, Susie, Kari, Leslie, Kelly and Alicia; and seven wonderful grandchildren, Ally, Jacob and Sydney, Paige and Jack, Morgan and Justin.
