I have this story to share of my dad. 

My mom and dad were married for 47 years and together for 48 or so. Right before he got sick he ordered a ring for my mom's birthday. It had their names inscribed on either side of their birthstones and it also was inscribed on the inside with the words "love forever". He was always having me sneak in his room to tell him ring size and to show me what he ordered.  

He went into the hospital on Her birthday. He didn't get a chance to give it to her. So a few days before he passed I gave it to her.

And the day before he passed I told  him I gave it to her. His head moved towards the sound of my voice when I told him that. 

He loved her so much. 

I'm going to miss  Christmases and anniversary and her birthday where he would have me say yes or no to his present ideas, to wrap her gifts for him and to always give him ring size. He always was so sneaky trying to get my attention  to go into his room so he could show me. I love that man
