Leave a tributeNo worries Tom we will take care of Jackie & the Boy's
for I know she loved you & will miss you deeply.
Your Forever Friend Karin, see you on the other side my brother from another Mother
You taught me what it meant to work hard to provide for your family... That life will test your will, but that setbacks are temporary... That music is your most reliable and cheapest therapist... That short shorts are appropriate at any stage of life... That mustaches are everything... You showed me that nature can recharge your soul... That your pets are sometimes the only people in your house that truly appreciate and understand you... And that if you have nothing else in life, have a sense of humor...
You were a man of few words, but I was always listening... I love you dad.

Friends and A Hospice Nurse~Bonus!
About 2 years ago or so Tom got to the point that he was unable to be left alone. We were thinking about hiring help or placing him in Adult day care. When an Angel came to our rescue. Our friend Roxanne moved in with us. She worked nights and Sharon and I days. She gave him tasked to do during the day and made sure he ate and took his meds. Being a Hospice nurse she is very experienced in Alzheimer patients. We also had our dear friend Greg Copeland come over 2 or 3 times weekly and involve Tom in some home improvements. Tom's favorite things to do! Even though Tom struggled to use his favorite tools and his hands Greg had all the patients in the world for his longtime friend.
Soon Tom needed someone to care for him day and night as he started to wander and leave the house. We then moved him into an assisted living Feb 2018. Karin and Greg visited often.
In his final month March 2019 we hired hospice and requested Roxanne to be his Hospice advocate. She did an amazing job above and beyond her duties. She made sure Tom was very comfortable and well taken care of. It was really nice to have her because Tom knew our longtime friend.
I can't say enough about our friends. Friends are my family for sure!
Travel Buddies
One thing Tom and I really enjoyed was all the travels we took with our travel buddies John and Margaret Osinski. It all started with me saying I would love to be in Cabo Mexico for Sammy Hagar's birthday (2004). Next thing you know Margaret made it happen! And we took so many cool trips together after that. Kauai & Maui Hawaii. Napa Valley, San Francisco, and Yosemite park. Zion and Bryce Canyon. Florida Keys, Miami and a cruise to the Bahamas. Many times to Sedona and Las Vegas. I am sure I am missing a few. But they made our life exciting. Thinking back I am now so thankful Tom got to enjoy those trips. Many people have to wait to retire to take any one of these trips. But because we have such amazing friends we were able to live the life of retirement early. Thank you Margaret and John, Tom and I will always cherish your friendship.
