His Life

Tom passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020, after a very lengthy battle with lung disease. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucille Tanguay (nee Navas), three children (daughter Terry Bryant and her husband, Jon, of Howell, NJ, daughter Celena Tanguay of Oakland, CA,  and son T. David Tanguay, Jr. and his wife, Danielle, of Howell, NJ), three grandchildren (Jake Zbozny, T. David Tanguay III, and Jaimee Tanguay of Howell, NJ), and two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Mackenzie Bryant of Manchester Township, NJ.  Additional surviving family members include: brother-in-law George Navas and his wife, Pat, of Farmingdale, NJ; sister-in-law Barbara Tanguay of New Milford, CT; nephews G. Philip Navas and his wife, Linda, of Howell, NJ, Roger Navas and his wife, Linda, of Jackson, NJ and Tim Navas, and his wife, Laura, of Round Lake Beach, IL; nieces Kathleen (Navas) Urban and her husband, Rob, of Millstone Township, NJ and Lori Tanguay of Southbury, CT; grand-nephews Phil Navas and his wife, Krystine, of Brick, NJ, Jonathan Navas, and his wife, Samantha, of San Tan Valley, AZ, Kyle Navas of Round Lake Beach, IL, and Travis Fitch of Southbury, CT; grand-nieces Shannon Ulrich, and her husband, Mike, of Beachwood, NJ, Alexandra De Silvio, and her husband, Nick, of Franklin Park, NJ, Elizabeth Navas of Jackson, NJ, Emily Navas of Round Lake Beach, IL, and Abigail, Rebecca and Vanessa Urban of Millstone Township, NJ; and two great-grand-nephews, Mike and Trevor Ulrich of Beachwood, NJ.  Tom was predeceased by his father (Elmo Francis Tanguay, Sr.), mother (Alice Maude Hull Tanguay), brother (Elmo Francis Tanguay, Jr.), and one granddaughter (Ayiana Jade).

Tom was extremely proud to have served in the Navy for nine years active duty and in the Naval Reserves for over 25 years.  He worked at Naval Weapons Station Earle until his retirement.  He was a life-long sports fan and worked for the Monmouth County Parks System at Howell Park Golf Course after retiring from NWS Earle, mainly to feed his golf addiction!

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation in Tom's name to either Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ or Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA.
