Just heard yesterday. You were an exceptional person. Astute, Brilliant leader. You'll be sorely missed.

When I heard the news of your passing, it felt like my whole world shattered. I wished for it to be a very bad dream that I would wake up from but I never did. I prayed, I cried, I begged for a miracle but to no avail. I didn’t want to but at a point, I was a little angry at God. Why would he take my uncle away from us at such a young age? I just could not understand why.
I finally got clarity when I listened to a sermon, it was about long life. It said long life isn’t about living for 80 or 100 years. It’s about fulfilling the purpose why you were created, that hit me hard. I was wondering why God let him die so soon and I got my answer. He didn’t die soon, he finished his own part so he has gone to rest with the Lord. And even though it hurts, let us be consoled with the fact that he’s in a better place.
Uncle, I’m really going to miss you a whole lot. You’ve been with me from the start till the day you took your last breath and I will never forget that. I’m gonna do my best to make you proud, that’s my last promise to you. You may not be here with me anymore but you will live on forever in my heart. Goodbye, Uncle, till we meet again.

It would be impossible to recover from the shock of your demise. Right from when I knew you in the late nineties, you were both the senior brother that I never had and a good friend too. Whenever we were in Nigeria, a visit to your place was always part of our itinerary.

An untimely death of a dear friend is not possible to forget. A lifelong friendship was expected but death took away your life. It’s a loss that’s so hard to bear, nothing makes it easier, knowing that you’re no longer here…. Still, memories of the best moments will always linger in our mind.

You gave no one a last farewell, nor ever said good-bye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knows why. It broke our hearts to lose you. We live with the hope that we will meet again someday, in a better place.

For all that you were, and for all that you did, you remain very special indeed. We are grateful for the times we had together. We’ll cherish our memories of you forever.

May your soul rest in peace.

I still can’t believe you are gone, you left without saying goodbye. The special memories of you will always bring a smile. I wish I could bring you back for just a little while so we could sit and talk as we use to do. A million times I will miss you and in my heart you hold a place no one else can fill.
