Geneva's Story

March 30, 2016

Ever since I was young, I had a difficult time falling asleep. I did not know what to blame. My parents took me to psychologists and sleep studies before finally being diagnosed with insomnia. Over the years, the lack of sleep caused several issues for my life. I had a hard time concentrating in school, I felt anxious and jittery all the time, and I never felt fully satisfied with the quality of my life.

One day, my life changed. I saw a special on the Today Show about foods with "superpowers." One of the foods was a banana, which supposedly helps people fall asleep and stay asleep. I realized that maybe food was the medicine I needed instead of the sleeping pills that made me feel groggy the next day. I researched foods and their amazing health benefits and began to change my diet completely. The results were astounding. I can fall asleep at night and my grades have never been better.

I no longer suffer, but I know that there are people who still do. This memorial is dedicated to those who have yet to turn their life around. May they find their way, like I have.
