In Loving Memory of Mr. Tibebe "Benyam" Tasew

It is with heavy hearts that we gather to honor the life and legacy of Benyam, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Born to Mrs. Birke Tedla and Mr. Tasew Walelu on September 18, 1973, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Benyam began his academic journey at John F. Kennedy Elementary School before progressing to Menelik II Secondary School. In 1990, he embarked on a new chapter in the United States, graduating from Centerville High School in 1995. He continued his pursuit of knowledge at Sinclair Community College before successfully venturing as a self-employed entrepreneur in the greater Dayton area.

Even amidst his battle with cancer, which commenced in 2020, Mr. Tasew displayed unwavering perseverance, continuing to oversee his businesses until his final hospitalization on February 24th, 2024. Surrounded by loved ones, he peacefully departed this world on March 9th, 2024.

Benyam's spirit of compassion and generosity touched countless lives. He was a devoted member of Debre Haile St. Gabriel's Church, dedicating himself to its maintenance and upkeep. His philanthropic efforts extended to the construction of Nabu Michael and Qatsla Maryam Church, and he fervently supported various charitable causes through prayer and financial contributions.

Above all, Mr. Tasew was revered for his boundless generosity, unwavering love, gentle kindness, and devout reverence for God. His memory shall endure in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him, and his absence shall be deeply felt within our community. May his soul find eternal peace in heaven and may God bring comfort to the grieving hearts of his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to our dear brother, let us take solace in the words of Psalm 27:1: "God is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
