Timothy John Munger, 76, of Helena Alabama passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on September 19th, 2020. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 7th, 1943 to the late Ira John and Eleanor Munger. Being the son of an Air Force Serviceman, he lived in many states and countries. As a child, he lived in Germany and in Japan. He graduated high school from Salina, Kansas. After moving from Anchorage, Alaska, and throughout the US, he returned to Batavia, New York, where his parents were from to become a police officer. It was in Batavia that he met his wife of 42 years, Linda Hawkins. They were married and resided in Florida until they moved to Helena Alabama in 1992.
Tim was a jack of all trades and his list of occupations included a police officer, mechanic, mechanist, wood worker and residential home builder of 36 years. Tim was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus of the Fourth Degree and of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover AL. Tim was even prouder of his family whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ira John and Eleanor Munger, son Timothy Jr. and granddaughter Megan Blake.
Survivors include four daughters, Stephanie (James) Blake, Kym (Ralph) Dyer, Krystin (T.J.) Seales, and Brittany (Chad) Woods. He was the grandfather of Gabriel Dyer, Jordan (Jacob) Tate, Morgan and Blair Seales, Mackenzie (Tanner) Scofield, and Hunter Blake. He was the great-grandfather of Scarlet and Skye Scofield.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 25th, 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4600 Preserve Pkwy, Hoover, AL, from 2 to 3 P.M. with services directly to follow at 3 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or the Knights of Columbus.
