With Christmas approaching you are always in our thoughts. We shall visit your grave as we always do and remember with love what a special man you are.  Mum has always kept the grave immaculate and talks of you a lot. Her eyes sparkle when reminiscing and it's clear where her heart is.
This birthday you will be 75 and already Mum has got a card and we shall make that special trip to lay it on the stone.
Your great granddaughters are doing well and know all about you.
We miss you Dad life isn't the same but we're trying our best.
Love you always Hayley xxxxx

So much has happened since you've gone. Every day you are talked about and memories shared. You are now a great grandad, with Lilly's arrival in September it gives us great comfort to think that you are looking over us sharing the love and joy of her. Your birthday on 29th December was marked with flowers Mum has never let you down on that as you know. As we begin another year with out you and the 3rd anniversary of your passing in February, you can rely on us all to come together as a family and mark the day with love respect and flowers. Much love to you Dad, love Hayley xxxxxx

I shall cherish every memory of you Dad. You taught me so much about the world we live in. I'm so proud and very lucky that you were my Dad. It's your strength that is keeping me going. Love and hugs to you. From Hayley (thrupence) and still a Daddy's girl!

An Early Morning Call

March 19, 2012

Dad had to get up for work early, five am to be precise.  He would often call the operator to get an early morning call.  This particular time all us kids and Mum were tucked up in bed sleeping.  As expected the phone rings at five am.  Still half asleep Dad jumps out of bed and dashes down the stairs.  Only he misses several steps and falls down the rest. I hear a loud crack and the air is blue and the noise of course wakes up everyone.

Of course after several moments the phone is still ringing and Dad is still swearing. Eventually he picks up the phone and I hear.  ''Yes, good morning, thanks for the call, I'm up now'.   We are all giggling in our beds and later I realise why I heard the loud crack.
At the bottom of the stairs was a wooden clothes horse, laden with clothes, Dad had fallen on to it.  By the time I saw it later on, it was heavily taped up.   It was a alarm call he didn't need.
