His Life

Mr. Tom Junior Hannon was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1933 in Laurel, Mis­ sissippi (Smith County) to the late Wesley and Ever­ leana Hannon. He was united with the First Baptist Church, Rockford, Alabama at an early age.

He was preceded in death by: a loving mother, Everleana Hannon; father, Wesley Hannon; daughter, Julie Davison; granddaughter, Kimberly Jackson; three sisters, Lena Hunt, Beulah Patterson and Audrey Jack­ son; one brother, Clifton Hannon.

He was employed at Avondale Mills for 29 years, until he retired in 1995. Throughout the years he was employed, he earned many achievements such as Outstanding Job Performance and Perfect Atten­ dance. His true passion was farming to provide for his family and friends. For which he was recognized as "Outstanding Farmer" in the Southeast by the Avon­ dale Sun. During his down time he loved to fish and after a big catch, he enjoyed having friends and family over for deep fried fish that he specialized in.

He was united in holy matrimony on July 18, 1952 to Mrs. Laverne Brooken. They enjoyed 61 lov­ ing years together.

Forever cherishing his memory he leaves: a loving wife, Mrs. Laverne Hannon; three daughters, Chris Hannon of Columbus, Ohio, Deborah (Willie) Gilbert of Alexander City, Alabama, Sheila (Johnny) Daniels of Alexander City, Alabama; one son, Tommy Hannon of Rockford, Alabama; four sisters, Willie D. Lyles, Sarah Jones (Frederick) Owens, Pamela (Don­ ald) Lee, Mary (Ronald) Seals; three brothers, Sim (Bessie) Hannon, Dolen Hannon, Richard (Amanda) Hannon; three sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Buddy) Du­ bose, Sarah Hannon and Cora (Curtis) Edwards; seven grandsons, Chalyiss (Porsche) Hannon, Stevie (Mam­ mie) Johnson, Barry Goggans, Patrick Johnson, Christopher Moon, Brendon Upshaw, Mishael Up­ shaw; two granddaughters, Mequita Moon and Savan­ nah Hannon; a host of great-great grands, nieces and nephews. One special cousin, Arcuqlia Pearson.
