Many walks after a speech tournament waiting for results....after which we hardly cared if we won.....we always did though.

Tom, You were one of my favorite people to talk to in hign school. I loved the bus trips to speech contests where you, K.Powell and I would talk about heady stuff most kids were oblivious too. Looks like your daughter turned out just fine and is following in your footsteps. I'm sure you'd be proud. I'll play a Bunny Berigan tune today in honor of your birthday!

I knew Tom as a teen and young adult. When he died I hadn't seen him for several decades, but when ever I spoke with him on the phone, it was as if we had been together the day before. For years he was like a brother to me, and I'm sure there are many others who feel the same way. Believe it or not, as I write this, I hear Benny Goodman on the TV in the next room. Wow.
