On Thursday, July 21, 2022, Toni Ann (Hubbert) Johnston passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 76. She was born August 18, 1945, in Birmingham, AL to James Clinton Hubbert and Dora Lela (Kuykendall) Hubbert. She is a graduate of Ensley High School, worked her entire life in various administrative assistant positions, and finished her career as a paralegal at a local law firm before retiring. Toni was preceded in death by her father J.C., her mother Lela, and her husband Don Lee Johnston. She is survived by her brother Robert Lynn Hubbert of Hayden, Alabama, her son Christopher P. LaRussa of Syracuse, NY, and her daughter Kellie Ann (LaRussa) Meloun of Birmingham, AL, as well as eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and two nieces. The family will hold a private memorial service in September. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society or preferred animal shelter.
