Dr. Tony Aram was born in Vietnam and raised in Buffalo, New York and Dunedin, Florida. He graduated with Honors in Biochemistry and Molecular Engineering from the University of Florida and Cum Laude from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine. Pursuing his deep interests in robotics and surgery, he completed a prestigious orthopaedic residency at the University of Pittsburgh. There, he excelled in the field of Joint Reconstruction, Trauma and Sports Medicine. Dr. Aram was Board Certified and was a Fellow of both the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Aram was a pioneer of computer navigation surgery and minimally invasive procedures, and was the first surgeon to perform MAKOplasty in the Greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Throughout his career, Dr. Aram performed more than 1,000 MAKOplasty procedures.

Dr. Tony Aram established the Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Institute and the Robotic Surgery Center to provide the best amalgamation of proven and advanced treatment options for each patient’s needs. He also consulted in the development of robotic technologies and was working on expanding his expertise into hip replacement and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction before his passing.

Dr. Aram thanked God every day for the opportunity he was given, and strove to honor the trust his patients placed in him as they worked together to overcome arthritic pain and restore quality of life through innovation and minimally invasive surgery.
