Tony was like a brother to me even though we were cousins. He was always trying to make friends. Whether being involved in golf or insurance, he was always trying to make the day special for someone. He always kept in touch with me even though we lived in different parts of the country most of our lives. In our conversations, he was very proud of his daughter, Michelle, and her accomplishments in life and his son-in-law and two grandchildren. He remembered his past vividly and always wanted to make it part of his present. His little dog, which was a beagle, was his connection to his Father.

I had the privilege of spending lots of good times and meaningful work with Tony. He and I worked the Forida market with American Bankers Life, and we both had significant success in playing leadership positions with our Blue Cross associates. But just spending quality time with him meant a great deal to me. We had a tremendous opportunity to see the world through our conferences, the world of golf with our ABL brothers/partners and lots of fun expericences together over the 40 years I knew him. Tony was a guy everyone liked and I was always up for spending time with him. I considered him one of my closet friends. The world is a little less fun without Tony in it.

I was a fraternity brother at Bryant. As I remember Tony, he was just a nice guy. After I graduated in 1965, I lost touch with most of the brothers except for Brian Oshrin and Chuck Grundman. From these posts it appears that Tony continued on being a nice guy with good friends. 76 is too young.

I first met Tony when we moved here, a very sweet man, always asked how was my little dog was doing, he would come to the empty lot next to me to walk Louise and we would share stories about our dogs. I will miss seeing him.

Tony was a true friend and it's a true loss to me ! I use to work with him in the Fort Myers area for many years, always put a smile on my face and yes the times at lunch or after work that we would get together to have a few drinks and good conversations, always trying to make everyone laugh . He was good friend to me and my wife. I will miss his emails no matter the subject matter LOL  God Bless and may you enjoy your new adventure. I like to thank Michelle for reaching out to let me know that my good friend has moved on to a better place. Miss you Tony.....

We met Tony through his daily drive- arounds with sweet Louise. He always had a story or joke to tell. It's sad not to see them driving down the street anymore. It's comforting to know he is at peace and Louise is in a wonderful loving home❤️

I met Tony about two years ago when I moved one street over from him. He introduced himself and said welcome my name is Toni and this is Louise the last girl I will ever have LOL. He then asked me about myself and I told him I was not retired yet I was a real estate agent, from then on about every other day he would stop by and say hey how many houses have you sold today? I am going to miss him stopping by. Condolences to the whole family and friends, he was a nice man

When Tony joined our Wednesday golf group here in The Villages things changed for us immediately. No longer did we just show up and play golf....no, now we showed up and were entertained with colorful stories and some very colorful jokes. Everyone wanted to be in Tony's group because if you were you knew you were in for a fun day of golf....even if your golf wasn't so fun!
We sure missed him when he moved but he was never forgotten by his many friends here.
Rest in peace Tony....your job here on earth is done....and it was a job well done.

Tony was one of the first people I met in the dorm upon my arrival at Bryant in 1964. He and his roommate Josef Kozaka, made me feel welcome and were my first exposure to fraternity life. Tony's warmth and ability to communicate on just about anything encouraged me to pledge Beta Sigma Chi. That has to be one of the best decisions I've ever made. When Pledge Formal rolled around, it was Tony who offered a ride for me and my date. When I became an RA, it was Tony who helped me with the larger issues. RIP Brother. Your memory lives on in my heart!

It's with sadness that I let you know that Tony Fassell has passed away suddenly on April 25. My dad loved and cherished his family and friends. He was a great guy who never met a person he couldn't talk to, even if it was just to say hello. In his later years, he loved spending time with his precious rescue dog, Louise. In commemoration of his love for rescue animals, he would love it if you wanted to donate to the local Human Society - https://www.humanelake.com/donate. Rest in Peace, Dad

I met Tony a few weeks after he moved into Water oak. He lived behind me and while I could not see into his house he always had tomatoes in the window seal. I knew he was there and that he was going to make pasta sauce. Tony brought me a bowl of pasta sauce every time he made it. He was a really good neighbor and came to check on my husband and I about once a week. He would drive his golf cart up to my front door and honk and I would go out and visit with him. He did love his dog Louise and I would see him drive by the house to take her out for a walk or to do her business. Tony was so friendly and never met a stranger. His will be missed by all who knew him

In Memory of Tony

May 9, 2021
Both Tony and I entered Bryant College (Now University) in
September 1962. ( Only through his obit did I learn that we were born only 2 weeks apart). Freshman year  I lived in a small dorm slightly off campus. In retrospect, I was immature and got into trouble the only time that I drank that year; so next year they transferred me to the newest dorm to room with Tony who was an RA. I immediately understood that he was told to keep an eye on me; but he never showed me anything but courtesy and friendship. And I never got into trouble again.  We got along great as did Tony with everyone.
Later that year Tony and I pledged different fraternities so I moved in with a frat brother right across the hall from Tony. He always remained happy, friendly, and willing to share time for a good story or a good joke.
Upon graduation we lost contact for years until I heard that he was in the employee benefits business.....as was I. So sometime in the 1980's I got his phone number and called him in Florida from Massachusetts and we talked and caught up for the many  years apart. Despite some bad breaks, he was still the happy guy that I knew. We kept in touch by phone for a few years, then lost contact again, until one day in 2014. My wife and I had moved to The Villages and I was on a practice green getting ready for a round of golf, when one of my golf buddies showed up and said: Hey!, Joe Tomaselli and was shaking my hand when a voice 3 feet from me said: Hey! I knew a Joe Tomaselli. I turned around and there was Tony!!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! Only 3 feet away and we would never have known it if my name hadn't been called out. So, then my wife and I hosted Tony to a great home cooked meal and Tony and I stayed in touch daily, mostly by email as he moved out of The Villages. He was having some bad personal luck; but never complained. I knew that he loved his dog as he spoke of her often.
I will miss his positive attitude, his easy going ways, laughter, and great sense of humor. Tony was the kind of rare person that everyone liked. Rest in peace Tony!!

Tony was a great friend.....

I first met Tony when my wife and I moved to The Villages, FL in 2012. I joined a golf group and Tony was a member. We played many rounds of golf together. Tony, as many probably know loved to talk. We would discuss just about anything during our rounds. There seemed to be a great competition between the two of us (being almost the same age) about who could hit the golf ball further off the tee. We joked and laughed at each other the entire round. Tony visited my first home one evening here in The Villages and met my wife. I know he loved dogs and we talked a lot about that. After he moved to another location in Lady Lake I would call him every so often and keep him up to date regarding others in the group. He enjoyed our conversations and so did I. I think he missed not being in the group. Tony is one of those friends you never forget. I will never forget him. Great guy, tremendous personality. Rest in peace my friend! Hit em' straight!
