In 1939 G. C., Memhr Tsehaye was born to his father, Ato Fsehaye Berhane,
and to his mother, Weyzero Letebrhan Gebru, in Adi AbUr, in the sub zone of
Segeneyti, in the Southern Region of Eritrea.
Memhr Tsehaye completed his elementary, middle and high school education in
several towns/cities in Eritrea. The places were: Adi QeyH, Deqemhare and Asmera.
After Completing High School, for about 5 years, Memhr Tsehaye taught as a teacher in several places, such as SesaH, Deqem Hare and in Segeneyti.
After teaching in Eritrea for 5 years, Memhr Tsehaye decided to continue his
education and moved to Ethiopia to attend the University of Addis Abeba, the capital
city of Ethiopia. He graduated with a BA degree in Economics. After completing his
college education, Memhr Tsehaye worked as a teacher in several high schools and at
the University level.
Memhr Tsehaye participated in several extracurricular and sports activities, such
track and field, bicycle riding and soccer.
As a teacher, Memhr Tsehaye was interested in imparting the values of history
and culture to the younger generation. He was encouraging his students to excel in
such fields.
Memhr Tsehaye was a family man. In January 1963, he got married to Saba
Kidane of the Segeneyti area. The marriage lasted for almost 60 years. Out of the
marriage, Maher Tsehaye has 8 children and 7 grandchildren. He is survived by all of
them. Member Tsehaye was blessed with longevity.
From Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, in 1996, Memhr Tsehaye and his wife came to the
United States of America and settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, to be with their children.
After being sick for a while and getting medical care in a local hospital, on
January 5, 2023, Memhr Tsehaye departed from us.
We pray for the whole family to be comforted by The Almighty during this time of
loss and mourning! May The Good and Merciful Lord call him to His kingdom when the
trumpets sound!!
